This article explains briefly regarding Sexual problems in Men. In Men, there are Four sexual response cycles Desire, Arousal, Orgasm & Resolution.
Desire Disorder;
- Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder; This disorder is characterized by a low desire for sex and absent sexual thoughts or fantasies. Male hypoactive sexual desire disorder is sometimes associated with erectile and/or ejaculatory problems.
- Sexual Aversion Disorder; This disorder is defined as a persistent or recurrent extreme aversion and avoidance of genital sexual contact with the partner.
Arousal Disorder;
Erectile dysfunction is the common sexual problem in Men, here men are not able to get and keep an erection enough for penetration into the vagina. Mechanism of the erection of the Penis is, in the brain neurotransmitter is known as Acetylcholine triggers the release of Nitric oxide into the arteries of the penis causing the Erection of Penis.
Orgasm Disorder; There are two Orgasm disorders
- Ejaculation Disorders
- Anorgasmia
Ejaculation Disorders;
a) Premature Ejaculation: Ejaculation occurs very early
b) Delayed Ejaculation: Ejaculation occurs too late
c) Anejaculation: Absence of ejaculation
d) Retrograde Ejaculation: During ejaculation,\ semen is redirected to the bladder
Anorgasmia Disorder; In this case, Men is unable to achieve orgasm
Men’s sexual dysfunction can be corrected by treating the psychological or physical problems that cause it. Treatments include:
- Depth of sexual History
- Physical Examination
- Sex Education & Communication
- If needed Blood investigation & Ultrasound scanning
- Treatments according to the causative factors
